The Roebling Collection documents the personal and professional activities of John A. Roebling and Washington A. Roebling; and business activities of the John A. Roebling’s Sons Company. The material dates from 1824 to 1926 with the bulk of the material dating from 1844 to 1883.
Sanford L. Cluett papers
The Sanford L. Cluett Papers consists of notebooks and oversize certificates. The notebooks pertain to Cluett's days as an R.P.I. student as well as notebooks related to his professional career with the Walter A. Wood Mowing & Reaping MAchine Co. The oversize certificates include certificates of appreciation, and pieces relating to memberships (such as ASME) and the military.
Skilton Family papers
The Skilton Family Papers are comprised of the papers of James, Julius and George Skilton, three brothers, natives of Troy and graduates of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The collection focuses mainly on their professional careers with a focus on international affairs, legal issues, engineering discussions, and personal and family matters.
Thaddeus Sanford Smith papers
The Thaddeus Sanford Smith papers (MC 32), 1858-1861, contain two volumes of student notes in such courses as geometry, physics, electricity, chemistry, surveying, etc. Names of lecturers are given below when they were listed in Smith's notes. Also included are brief notations for Smith's thesis on a railway bridge.
