This collection contains professional and personal papers of Ivar Giaever, Nobel Prize co-winner (Giaever shared the prize with Leo Esaki and Brian Josephson). They were awarded the 1973 Nobel Prize in Physics, for discoveries regarding tunneling phenomena in semiconductors and superconductors. Included in the content are professional and personal correspondence, publications, patents, lecture notes, photographs, newspaper clippings, scrapbooks, and personal items, such as an ASME medal, awarded to Giaever in 2018.
