They were awarded the 1973 Nobel Prize in Physics, for discoveries regarding tunneling phenomena in semiconductors and superconductors. Included in the content are professional and personal correspondence, publications, patents, lecture notes, photographs, newspaper clippings, scrapbooks, and personal items, such as an ASME medal, awarded to Giaever in 2018.
