Scope and Contents
The Institute Publications Collection is an umbrella for hundreds of titles published by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute schools, departments, and student organizations. These include college catalogs (published under a variety of titles over the years); Institute bulletins, newsletters, programs, calendars, news releases, and promotional materials; alumni bulletins, magazines, and directories; student, faculty, and staff directories; guides, handbooks, and manuals; reports; songbooks; yearbooks; the student newspaper (The Rensselaer Polytechnic); and a wide range of printed materials produced by the Rensselaer community. Also included are three series: At Rensselaer, Engineering and Science Series, and the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Bulletin.

Biographical / Historical
Published on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of Rensselaer, this item is a reprint of a statement by Institute Director Benjamin Franklin Greene which was written in 1849 and published in 1855. The original title was "The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute: Its Reorganization in 1849-50; Its Condition at the Present Time; Its Plans and Hopes for the Future."
