James C. McGuire scrapbook
Scope and Contents
The McGuire scrapbook (MC 86) ranges from 1884 to 1888, when James was a student at Rensselaer. He collected poems, newspaper clippings about events at the institute and about Troy society, and card receipts for class session payments and grade results. The collection also contains notes and notices, written by various professors, invitations and tickets to a multitude of events held in Troy or at the institute, as well as other invitations, tickets, and membership cards to clubs James belonged to. This collection offers a glimpse of student life at Rensselaer during the mid to late 1880’s.
