Henry B. Nason collection
Scope and Contents
The collection (MC 9) contains two scrapbooks, one of Professor Nason's and one of his wife's. The dates of the volumes span from 1858 to 1896. Nason's scrapbook contains newspaper clippings, printed invitations, programs and some personal correspondence. There is very little in the scrapbook pertaining to Nason's research or his professional writing, however numerous news clippings describe Nason's social activities and affiliations at RPI and in the surrounding region. The clippings are of a social nature documenting his life at RPI and as a member of the Troy community. Mrs. Nason's scrapbook consists of newspaper clippings, letters of condolence upon her husband's death, programs for his memorial services and for local music recitals. Memorabilia from steamship lines are also included.
