William Anderson Aycrigg scrapbooks
Scope and Contents
William Aycrigg’s three scrapbooks (MC 45) contain a variety of materials, such as clippings, programs, invitations, accounts, tintypes and sketches, primarily reflecting his student days in Troy from 1880 to 1884. Items document Aycrigg’s education at RPI, as well as a wealth of athletic and social activities, including Chi Phi fraternity, sleigh rides, rushes, and Grand Marshall activities. The books also include materials concerning Aycrigg’s alumni activities, a letter of reference from the Omaha City Engineer, an obituary, and articles pertaining to astronomy.
