Livingston Waddell Houston papers
Scope and Contents
The Livingston Waddell Houston papers (MC 28) focus exclusively on Houston's student notebooks from engineering classes while he attended RPI between 1909-1913. These notebooks contain labs, exercises on mechanical engineering subjects such as boilers, machine design, thermodynamics, heat engines and gas and oil engines. Included in Houston's Gas & Oil Engine notebook are descriptions and diagramss of the "Burden Iron Works" and the "Heating System of the Institute" in 1912. Additional materials include miscellaneous papers from classes taken in 1909 and several activity, exam and tuition cards.
