Loose photographs and album pages, 1909 and undated
Scope and Contents
The bulk of this collection (MC 85) consists of six photograph albums, along with a small number of loose images and album page. The photos primarily document Louis Blackmer Puffer's experiences as a student and lecturer at RPI. The albums contain images of student surveys, rushes, athletes, campus buildings, classrooms, students' rooms, the Rensselaer Technical Society, College Pond, and hiking trips taken by Puffer and others in New York and Vermont. There are also numerous photos showing businesses, forms of transportation, dams, canals, bridges, and construction of the Pennsylvania Terminal. A wide variety of photos depict Troy sites and events such as the 1909 Hudson-Fulton Celebration, Troy Week, and the Burden Water Wheel. In addition, the collection contains one album (possibly earlier) showing unidentified people and buildings.
