Scope and Contents

The Administrative and General Apollo Files, arranged alphabetically, include: files of a biographical nature, such as GML's appointments, personnel information, and resignation; materials relating to management activities, including executive recruitment and NASA organization; and files documenting specific issues of the Apollo program, such as fracture mechanics. Lunar Module vibration testing, land landing and MSC-Hqs. Mission operations relationships include memoranda, reports, briefing charts, organizational charts etc. Land Landing in particular contains photographs and test data while MSC-Hqs. Mission operations relationships contains information regarding the responsibilities of the Office of Manned Space Flight Mission Operations Directors and the manned space flight centers and GML's views regarding the history of mission operations. Of special note is a 1965 essay by GML stating his concern about the organization and some of the individuals involved in Mission Operations (Box 75 Folder 4).
