Biographical Note

Leopold F. Goeller was born in 1899 and attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he earned his civil engineering degree in 1923. After graduation he became Superintendent of the Charles Goeller Construction Company in Newark, New Jersey. During the 1930s and 1940s he held various supervisory positions in the Works Progress Administration in Virginia, and later became a project engineer for the Celanese Fibers Company in Narrows, Virginia.
