Biographical Note

Edward Banker was born February 27, 1880, in Lansingburgh, N.Y. and prepared at Lansingburgh Academy. He entered R.P.I. in September 1899. Banker was vice-president of the class his first term as Freshman and manager of the class baseball team his Sophomore year then manager of the varsity baseball team and assistant manager of the varsity hockey team his Junior year. Additionally, Banker was a member of the R.P.I. Union hop committee his Freshman and Junior years while also on the calculus cremation committee. Banker graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Civil Engineering in 1903. He was Lieutenant Colonel, Assistant Quartermaster, of the United States Marine Corps.
