Palmer Ricketts Student Notebooks

Scope and Contents

The Palmer C. Ricketts' Student notebooks (MC 31) contain a small amount of material documenting Ricketts' education and early teaching experiences at RPI, 1874-1878.  Composed of five notebooks, tthese include two student volumes of drawing exercises, and three professorial notebooks containing notes and problems in mathematics and mechanics.  The last professional notebook also includes problems regarding bridge construction.

Scope and Contents The RPI Student Sketch Book Collection (AC 14) is a conglomeration of student sketch books and drawings from varied accessions and donors. The "pre-computer" course of study required a great amount of hands-on drawing, often in the form of a final sketch book. Though these drawings span from 1864 to 1952, they are similar in nature.
