Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Interfraternity Council

 Organization

Historical Note

The Interfraternity Council (IFC) at Rensselaer, established in 1916, was created to help connect different fraternities across campus. Each chapter elects delegates, who meet and discuss various Greek topics, and vote on decisions. The IFC established the committee’s constitution and rush rules, and overlooks decisions on fraternity applications, should a fraternity want to join the council. The IFC aims to build relationships between individual fraternity chapters through inter-fraternity league sports, fundraisers, social events, and other activities.
